Prologue

You will break, but oh, you will also heal. ~K.a~ "Your fate has already been decided; there is no need to fight it. You're mine! " Freddie sounded like a cat in distress or the smallest child in the room trying to exalt his rules among the others because he felt he was undermined according to his size or an insecure man among men whose mere presence demanded respect. He was minimally tall with brownish reddish eyes almost the color of soil, or maybe that is because he smoked too much weed. His right hand had a protruding curve on the thumb; he kept his hair long and always with a present weed roll drooping from the corner of his mouth. He smelled of alcohol, tobacco, sweat, smoke, and cheap perfume, which was ironic because his family was substantially wealthy. Eleonora moved into the room, sitting at the furthest chair in the room, her hands clasped together on her thighs. "You're the most beautiful girl in this town; you know that?" She ignored him, silently watching as he paced around the room. It was either that or snort, and something told her that would result in getting her face slapped. He already had his insecurities. In his view, snorting would be equivalent to disrespecting him. She sat silently, waiting patiently to hear what he had to say to her; her body crazily full of nerves as she waited to hear whether today was the day he carried her to his home. She didn't know why these meetings with him always scared her, yet he had forced her into them for almost the better part of her teenagehood. "You're going to love me someday, you know" He laughed mockingly, his fingers lightly touching the corner of the roll. Eleonora could see some of his discolored teeth, and she shivered a bit in disgust. How could she marry such a man? But he was right; her fate had been decided and sealed since she was born, and there was nothing she could do about it. Freddie was her fate, yet he was the one that scared her the most. She remembered him commenting on her small growing breast when she was twelve or when he said he'd like to suck on the birthmark above her lips.
